Roehampton University and St Mary’s University are a short hop on the train, while central London can be reached in 25 minutes by rail. Kingston has always had a strong music scene, with live music and nightclubs. For a big night out, you can be in London in 25 minutes.

The town’s name is a clue to its heritage – Anglo Saxon monarchs were crowned here and the Kinges Tun was a royal estate. Ancient monuments are part of the town’s architecture; walk over London’s oldest bridge and past the coronation stone on your way to the shops. Take a boat down the river to King Henry VIII’s palace at Hampton Court. And discover Kingston’s leading role in aviation history. Iconic aeroplanes were manufactured here, including jet fighters.
Kingston is close to the M25, M3, M4 and A3, for access from all parts of the UK by road. Services from Kingston Rail station take 25 minutes to London. Heathrow Airport is half an hour away by car or bus. There are extensive cycle lanes within Kingston and the town is served by local buses, day and night.
