There's no shortage of things to do around Egham for students. Thorpe Park, one of the UK's favourite theme parks, makes for a perfect day trip on the weekend. In the summer, the Royal Ascot racecourse comes alive as enthusiasts flock to Surrey for a week of horse racing. Egham town centre is full of renowned pubs, including The Packhorse, a local pub affiliated with Royal Holloway Student Union which frequently hosts student-favourite nights in the town. Egham is only 30 minutes on the train away from Waterloo station, meaning central London is right on your doorstep when you're in the mood for a night in the capital. There’s also plenty of local transport to surrounding towns and cities in Surrey and the South East via regular buses and trains, as well as a handy bus service to London Heathrow Airport.
