Charity Week: Raising Money for YoungMinds and Jigsaw During Mental Health Awareness Week

  |     |   Student Living

Fresh have raised over £725 in our annual charity week for YoungMinds (UK) and Jigsaw (Ireland). Our fundraising week coincided with Mental Fresh's Charity Week Fitness BingoHealth Awareness Week, focusing on moving more for your mental health. We know how important it is to support the mental health of our staff and residents, and this informed our choice of charity partners. YoungMinds is a charity focused on promoting and improving the mental health of all children and young people and encouraging mental and physical wellbeing (something we are greatly passionate about here at Fresh). Jigsaw, similarly, holds mental health as a priority and focuses on supporting young people aged 12-25 years old in Ireland. We are proud to contribute to their vital work.

Each property and our central services teams took on a Fitness Bingo challenge to move more for mental health, from learning a TikTok dance and getting outside for a walk, to trying a new exercise class or choosing the stairs over the lift for the week.

Our properties also hosted a whole range of events bespoke for their residents. Here are some highlights:

Ty Nant hosted a boxercise class, encouraging residents to try a new form of exercise.

The Shield hosted a bake sale, and their Security Guard Keith took on the huge challenge of completing two marathons to raise funds for YoungMinds!

Spring Mews Pet Therapy
Spring Mews hosted a pet therapy event with these two adorable dogs.
