We've got some exciting news to share.

Fresh has been shortlisted for three awards at the Liverpool Property & Business Awards 2026, including a nomination for Best Student Housing Operator, while both Benson Yard and Calico have been shortlisted for Best Student Accommodation Development.

And while we're incredibly proud of the recognition, the best part is what it says about the student experience being delivered right here in Liverpool.

More than just a place to stay

When you're at university, your accommodation becomes a huge part of your experience.

It's where you meet friends during your first few weeks, where you pull together group projects at the last minute, where you unwind after lectures, and where some of your favourite university memories are made.

That's why we're so pleased to see both Benson Yard and Calico recognised.

These nominations aren't just about buildings. They're a reflection of the communities that exist inside them, the events that bring residents together, the support available when it's needed and the people who make each property feel like home.

Two Liverpool communities getting recognition

Both Benson Yard and Calico have been shortlisted in the Best Student Accommodation Development category, putting them among a small group of student accommodation schemes recognised across the city.

Benson Yard

Located in the heart of Liverpool, Benson Yard is home to more than 400 students and has become known for its welcoming atmosphere, modern facilities and community-focused approach.

With a StudentCrowd rating of 4.26 out of 5, it's clear that residents value not only the accommodation itself but the experience that comes with living there.

Whether it's resident events, social spaces or support from the onsite team, the focus has always been on helping students settle in and make the most of university life.

Calico

Home to more than 730 students, Calico is one of Liverpool's largest student communities.

From social events and wellbeing initiatives to the communal spaces where friendships are formed, Calico has built a reputation for delivering an outstanding student experience.

Its 4.51 out of 5 StudentCrowd rating reflects the positive feedback residents continue to share and highlights why it has earned its place on the shortlist.

Why we're especially proud

We're also delighted that Fresh has been named one of only ten finalists for Best Student Housing Operator.

For prospective students, this means the recognition goes beyond a single building. It reflects the experience delivered across our communities, from dedicated onsite support and wellbeing initiatives to events, resident engagement and day-to-day service.

In short, it shows that student experience remains at the heart of everything we do.

A huge thank you to our residents

Awards are judged by industry experts, but great student communities are built by the people who live in them.

Every resident who has attended an event, shared feedback, got involved in their community or simply helped make Benson Yard or Calico a welcoming place to live has contributed to this achievement.

So while we'll be heading to the awards ceremony at the Titanic Hotel Liverpool this November hoping for a win, we're already celebrating something just as important: creating places where students can feel happy, supported and connected throughout their university journey.

Thank you for being part of it.
