Latest appointment by Ropemaker further expands client relationship & enhances Fresh’s presence in Scotland

We are pleased to announce that we has been appointed by Ropemaker to manage Meadow Court and Norton’s Student Living in Edinburgh; two purpose-built student accommodation (“PBSA”) developments in the city. Fresh took over management of the two schemes from 1 July 2026.

The appointment builds on our existing relationship with Ropemaker, on behalf of which it already manages The Gorge, a co-living scheme in Exeter, and Verse, a build-to-rent development in Cardiff. It also marks the growth of Fresh’s portfolio in Scotland, with Fresh managing PBSA schemes in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Paisley, and Dundee.

Meadow Court comprises 148 units, including 115 en-suite bedrooms within cluster flats and 33 units within townhouses, providing students with a shared house experience whilst also benefitting from the support and amenities of PBSA. Amenities at the scheme include shared study and social spaces, study pods, and a courtyard. The property is located approximately 30-minutes’ walk from Edinburgh Napier University’s Merchiston campus and a 10-minute walk from the University of Edinburgh.

Norton’s Student Living comprises 149 units, including 97 en-suite rooms and 52 studios. The property includes a range of amenities for residents including shared study spaces, communal lounge areas, a games room, cinema room, gym, and a private rooftop dining room. The scheme is conveniently located a 30-minute walk from the University of Edinburgh and a 30-minute bus journey from Edinburgh Napier University’s Merchiston Campus.

Residents at both schemes will have access to Fresh’s award-winning Be Wellbeing Programme, alongside Fresh’s Platinum-certified level of service for PBSA properties, as certified by the GSLI Spring Wave Survey 2026. Ropemaker has already experienced the added value Fresh brings to BTR and co-living developments through its Belong Residents Club.

Commenting on the appointment, Sam Scott, Managing Director at Fresh, said:

“We are thrilled to be expanding both our partnership with Ropemaker and our presence in Scotland with Fresh’s appointment to operate Meadow Court and Norton’s Student Living.

“The expansion of the partnership demonstrates our proven ability to deliver strong results across the BTR, co-living and PBSA sectors, and we’re delighted that Ropemaker has recognised our ability to enhance the resident experience at pre-established properties.

“We look forward to supporting Ropemaker’s PBSA portfolio and upholding the exceptional operational standards they have come to expect from Fresh Property Group.”

Commenting on behalf of Ropemaker, Paul Hillier, Investment Manager, said:

We’re very pleased to continue and expand our relationship with Fresh and look forward to working with them to provide students with an exceptional accommodation experience during their studies, ensuring residents are supported during this important stage in their lives.

Fresh have already demonstrated the value they bring to our residents at our BTR and co-liv properties, and we’re excited to extend this partnership into PBSA.  “
