The city of Chester was recently ranked as the third-best place in the UK for students to enjoy a night out! This is according to a poll conducted by the Student Nightlife Index 2019, which saw Chester come in third behind Huddersfield and Derby. It beat big contenders like Liverpool and Newcastle to a spot in the top three!
According to the survey, while the area has just two major nightclubs, there are plenty of fun things to do in Chester at night. There are around 50 bars, pubs, restaurants and takeaways that keep the place buzzing. It’s affordable too – a pint will cost around £2.95, and taxi fares start from £2.50. Not only that, the city has scored good safety ratings and 90% for the availability of green spaces, with 7.6 out of 10 for general happiness. All of which led to a rating of 60.80 out of a possible 100.
